Fairfax, VA - April 20, 2009 — The Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies recently launched a new website designed for consumers who are seeking help with financial problems. The new site provides useful information regarding financial education on a wide range of topics, housing and other government resources and access to the AICCCA member offices across the nation.

"Our member offices help more than 2.5 million consumers each year," said Dave Jones, president, AICCCA. "We wanted to provide an easily navigated website to help the millions of financially troubled consumers seek help from qualified credit counseling agencies with a proven track record."

With seven percent of homeowners 30 days late on their mortgages in February, 4.5 percent of total balances on bank issued credit cards 60 days late in February and the unemployment rate at 8.5 percent, the numbers of consumers needing financial help will only continue to grow.

Most consumers who are experiencing financial trouble could benefit from learning how to create a workable budget or spending plan, setting financial goals and avoiding adding to their troubles with products like payday loans.
