AICCCA Mid-Winter Conference Features Experts
To Address Changes in Credit Counseling Industry
The Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies will hold its 13th annual mid-winter conference in San Antonio, Texas, January 11 - 13, 2006. Credit counselors from across the nation will meet to learn the latest regarding the counseling requirements of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, the legal landscape as it pertains to credit counseling and serving the needs of bankruptcy filers
"Of particular interest to this year's conference is the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, which became effective October 17, 2005," said AICCCA President Dave Jones. "The bankruptcy reform law is the most pivotal personal finance issue that consumers and counselors alike have had to face."

Chapter 13 and Credit Counseling Under BAPCPA - Henry E. Hildebrand, III, Legislative Chair, National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, will discuss the Chapter 13 and credit counseling provisions of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.
"Can't We Just Get Along?" - Bradford W. Botes, Board of Directors, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, will address the relationship between consumer debtor attorneys and consumer credit counselors.
The Rapidly Changing Legal Landscape: What Every CCA Needs to Know - Jeffrey Tenebaum, Attorney, will speak on the many recent and upcoming legal revisions which continue to affect the consumer credit industry.
Measuring the Impact of Credit Counseling on Borrower Behavior - Dr. Michael Staten, Director, Credit Research Center, will examine this complex issue and offer valuable insights.
EOUST Update - A representative trustee from the Executive Office for United States Trustee will update the conference on the status of approved credit counseling agencies.
Bankruptcy Reform Act Roundtable Workshop -The focus will be on making credit counseling agencies compliant and effective in supporting bankruptcy applicants who must complete mandated pre-filing counseling.
